Weekly Meal Plan, March 5

So I know that I’m a day late with this…yesterday was absolutely crazy in the schedule department!  So much stuff going on right now, but I’m hoping in a few days it will calm down and I can catch my breath a bit 🙂

You may have read yesterday that I did all of our bills and bookkeeping this past weekend.  As I entered all the information in the computer, I kept noticing a LOT of dining out charges, so when I was done, I decided to run a little report to see exactly how much we spent on eating out last month.

Let’s just say that not only was I shocked that we actually had that much money in our account, but I was horrified that we spent it on something so stupid.  There are a million better things that we could have spent that money on, but instead it went into our mouths and we spent the rest of the month at the gym battling to get it off our hips, so to speak.

That’s why this week I am really, really, really, going to try to avoid eating out, except for one time each week, period.  I don’t think it’s realistic to totally cut out restaurants, because we love to eat out so much, but we just can’t waste money like that anymore.

Here’s my menu plan for the week:

  • Hamburgers, tater tots, fruit
  • Mac and cheese with chicken sausage, broccoli
  • Tilapia, orzo and frozen veggies
  • Leftovers
  • Sloppy Joes, sweet potato oven fries
  • Breakfast
  • Fajitas, guacamole and beans

I can’t wait to share with you the fabulous fajitas that I made this past weekend…totally worth all the work 🙂  {It wasnt that much, actually!}

I also plan to make the Cook’s Country make-ahead French toast this week, since I didn’t get around to it last week.  I’ll be sure to let you know how it turns out!

What’s on your menu this week?

    We had Fajitas for dinner tonight. I would love to see your recipe. I do our under a broiler and love to see others recipes. Looking forward to it.
    Breakfast for dinner always a good choice.
