Pampering Yourself at Home

February is always the time of year when I get tired of winter and start wishing for spring. I’m ready for sunshine, fresh air, and flowers coming up in the yard!

Unfortunately, the groundhog saw his shadow a couple of weeks ago, so that means at least 6 more weeks of winter.

6 more weeks of cold, dreary weather.

6 more weeks of little to no sunshine.

And 6 more weeks of dry, itchy skin.

If you’re feeling like you need a cure for the winter blues, you’re not alone!

Mom, you need to take care of yourself!

One of the hardest things to do as a mom is to take care of yourself. Think about it: you’re always so busy making sure that your kids have clean clothes, 3 meals a day, a clean house to live in, that you run a little short on time to pamper yourself.

You might also feel like it’s a waste of time or money to pamper yourself a bit, even though you could really use a little down time because you’re so exhausted from taking care of others.

But listen: You can’t pour out to others when you aren’t filled up first.

It’s not selfish to take an hour or two to soak in a warm bath with a book and some nice music.

It’s not greedy to take a few extra minutes in the morning to slather on some lotion that’s nourishing for your skin (especially in the winter months!).

And it’s certainly not self-seeking to take some time to enjoy some exercise or a night in front of the TV.

You need to take care of yourself too.

An easy and affordable alternative to a spa day

Fortunately, my friends at Grove are offering an easy and affordable way for you to indulge in a little bit of self-care.

Their free Personal Care Kit will help cure the winter blues AND take care of that dry skin.

When you place your first order of $20 using my referral link, you’ll get:

Free Mrs. Meyer’s body wash
Free Mrs. Meyer’s body lotion
Free Grove loofah
Free Shipping & 60 Day VIP Trial

If you’re an existing customer, you’ll receive a free Grove lip balm — perfect for soothing chapped lips!

Dry winter air is particularly hard on your skin. I’ve found that switching up my regular bar soap for this creamy Mrs. Meyer’s body wash was exactly what my skin needed! It’s made with aloe vera so it’s super nourishing, and the scents smell like a spring garden.

Mrs. Meyer’s body wash is even better with a Grove loofah. You only need a little dollop of soap on the soft mesh to create a rich lather. It’s great for exfoliating and increasing circulation to leave your skin smooth and glowy. You can use this in combination with my Lemon Basil Sugar Scrub for super soft skin.

After a shower, I love using Mrs. Meyer’s body lotion. It sinks in quickly, and hydrates without feeling greasy or heavy.

Grove Collaborative has become my go-to for healthy, beautiful personal care products. I order them right along with my household cleaning products. After you place your first order, Grove will remember the products you love and even recommend a shipment schedule so you don’t run out.

You can add or remove items from your cart or change your shipment date, and they’ll deliver everything (carbon offset) to your doorstep, on your schedule. (This is the best part about Grove…packing the kids into the car to go to the store!) They’ll even suggest products you might like, which is how I’ve discovered some new favorites!

  1. Thanks for sharing, Erin! My skin is naturally dry and takes a real beating in the winter. We keep lotion on hand at home and in the car to help, but it seems like I can never truly escape my super dry skin until the weather changes. On a side note, it’s good to know that Grove Collaborative sells Tom’s of Maine toothpaste! 🙂

  2. I’ve never tried Mrs. Meyer’s body wash or lotion before. But I’m sure it great just like their other products. We order from Grove Collaborative and love the convenience.
