Menu Plan Monday

Good morning and happy Monday! It’s back to the real world today, as the holiday vacation is finally over and we all get back to our regular routines.

Get a jump start on your week by making a menu plan!

If you’re wondering whether or not we stayed on the Trim Healthy Mama plan over Christmas, the answer is that we did, with a few cheats here and there. It was pretty easy to stay on plan, as there are so many plan-friendly foods and recipes available, but I did enjoy a Chick-fil-A milkshake and some regular waffles, as well as a few other treats, during the week. It set me back 1.5 pounds, but I feel like that is a miracle when I think about how much I’ve gained during other Christmas seasons 😉

If losing weight is going on your list of New Year’s resolutions again in 2016, you might want to consider THM. I’m planning to write more about it soon, so if you’ve not subscribed to my free blog update emails, you can do that now (and you’ll get a free copy of my DeStressing Motherhood eBook!)

Here’s what’s on the menu this week:

Breakfasts
Eggs with sausage (S)
Sprouted wheat toast with cottage cheese and fruit (E)
Oatmeal with Oikos 000 yogurt (E)

Lunches
Leftovers most days
Tuna salad in a low-carb wrap (S)
Strawberry Big Boy Smoothie (FP)

Dinners
THM Chicken Pot Pie, green beans (S)
Polish Sausage and Cabbage skillet, broccoli (S)
Wicked White Chili, baked corn tortilla chips (E)
Cowboy Grub, green beans (E)
THM Pizza, salad (S)
BLT Fritatta, salad or berries (S)
Eat out

I’ve taken most of my dinners from the Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook (affiliate link). We’ve been using this cookbook for practically all our meals for the past 14 weeks and we love everything we’ve tried so far.

  1. Erin, good for you for sticking to your THM eating plan. It’s good to hear you didn’t get too much of a setback from your cheats too.

I was able to maintain the same weight through the holiday season. I make a lot of cookies and candy but after making them all I don’t each much of them. I actually think making them all helps to keep me from overindulging.

The chicken pot pie sounds delicious. We had chicken pot pie soup last week and I’m making a few easy to make meals in the slow cooker this week.
