Now that the cold weather has arrived, all I really want to do is to sit on the couch with a book, a warm afghan, and a hot drink. You too? Oh good, then this homemade hot cocoa mix recipe is for you!
When I was in college, my cousin sent me a container of the best hot cocoa mix I had ever tasted. Not only was it deliciously chocolately, but it also mixed up well…much better than the store-bought variety in which little balls of chocolate powder clump on the top of your drink.
I have tried to replicate this mix many times over the years using many different recipes, but they never did seem quite the same. I finally gave up and emailed my cousin for the recipe. That printed recipe wasn’t even quite right, so I tweaked it a bit and finally hit on perfection!
This homemade hot cocoa mix recipe makes A LOT of mix…it will last quite a while, unless your family is like mine and wants to drink it all the time 🙂
I just love how well it mixes in with the hot water…and it’s not totally unhealthy for you, since there are vitamins in the Nesquick 🙂
