So, a few weeks ago, the good people over at Chiquita asked me if I would like to try out their Chiquita Apple Bites and review them on my blog.
I gladly accepted, and they were kind enough to send me 4 (four!) packages of different varieties. The day they arrived, my kids asked if they could try some, and I said, “Sure, just one for now, because I need to take some pictures of them for the blog.”
Three days later, when it was sunny enough to take some photos, I look in the fridge to get the apples and they are gone. GONE. Four packages gone. In three days!
I guess that means they’re good 🙂
Chiquita Bites are washed and ready to eat fruits and veggies that are perfect for busy moms. They come in several different varieties, but we tried the apples and apple/grape combo packs.
Now, I think I’m a lucky mom in that my kids will usually eat any fruit that is put in front of them, so it wasn’t out of the ordinary for them to want to eat the Chiquita bites (although it is unusual for them to eat so many so quickly!).
But there have been times when we have been at a restaurant or theme park and received pre-packaged apples, and they have tasted so yucky that my kids refused to eat them. Obviously, this is not the case with Chiquita Bites, because my kids ate them like crazy!
After discovering that all the apples were gone, we headed to our local grocery store to pick up more to photograph. They didn’t last long either.
In addition to being tasty and nutritious, the Chiquita Bites are super handy for packing into lunch boxes when you don’t have time to wash and slice fruit for all your kids. I love the fact that each pack contains a half-cup of fruit or veggies and only 30-80 calories.
The family packs are great for after-school snacking…just pour some onto a plate, serve with some milk or cheese, and you’ve got a healthy snack to fuel the kids for homework time.
It’s also easy to make recipes like Peanut Butter Apple Toast or Dark Chocolate Apple Dippers with the pre-washed Chiquita Bites Family Pack.
