This has been the longest winter EVER. We got so much snow and ice this year that the kids haven’t had a full week of school since before Christmas. That’s not even counting the school delays for ice and cold weather…I lost count of them.
Now that it’s mid-March, we are hoping that the snow is a thing of the past and sunshine and warmer temperatures are on the way. The house really needs a good spring cleaning and hours of open windows to let some fresh air drive off those musty odors that have been accumulating for months.
Don’t forget the car!
Just like your house, your car could use a good spring cleaning and freshening too! With such cold temperatures this winter, it’s difficult to get outside to wash or vacuum the car and it’s probably suffering from dirt, crumbs and odors.
My poor car hasn’t been washed in months…it’s covered in road salt, the floor mats have bits of old leaves and muddy shoe prints on them, and the kids’ back seat has seen better days. They often have snacks while riding in the car, leaving lots of cracker crumbs and drink containers. It could also use an airing out too.
Freshen up the car with Febreze Car Vent Clips
One thing I’m doing to help freshen up my car until I can give it a proper cleaning (hopefully this weekend…it’s supposed to actually be sunny!) is by using a Febreze Car Vent Clip.
I chose the Gain Island Fresh Scent so that we could feel like we were in a sunny warm place on vacation. It just clipped right onto the air vent in my car, and when I turn on the heater, the air comes out of the vent, passing through the Febreze clip and spreads clean, fresh-smelling air throughout the whole car.
We are really enjoying getting into a nice-smelling car each time we head out…and we can enjoy this great smell every day for a month, because the Febreze clips last for up to 30 days!

Our biggest struggle is keeping the trunk smelling fresh, with the kids backpacks, gym bags and all the extras sometimes it needs a little extra help
My kids forget food in the car and that’s a challenge.
We love fast food and eating in the car. So, it can be hard to keep our car smelling fresh when there are a lot of food odors and wrappers lingering around.
I have a big problem getting the dog odor out of my car from taking my dog and my brothers dogs to the park! Especially in the Spring and Summer when it is warmer-that is why I need some Febreze Clips!
But I bet your doggies have lots of fun every time! 😉
The kids leave food and food wrappers in the car and stinks it up.
Cigarettes and dog smells are the worst.

Dealing with cigarette smoke odor is a challenge!
Sippy cups of milk are the worst.
Yes! I remember a few of those being left in the car on hot summer days…they were so stinky!
Thanks for this giveaway, Erin! I know my husband would like a Febreze car vent clip. Thankfully, he takes care of just about everything that has to do with cleaning the inside and outside of the car. He’s the type of guy that likes to keep our car clean, so I never have to worry about it. 😉
You’re so lucky to have such a tidy husband Sandra!
My biggest challenge is to get rid of pet’s odor in my car.
I don’t drive my car too often, so the air inside smells stale.
My biggest struggle is dealing with my pets odors.
I agree, they can be bad…plus the dog hair all over the seats, like in my car 🙂
For us, its when my son leaves his drive thru bags in the car! Then I get in the car and it smells like french fries or tacos! LOL
Oh, that’s the worst! 🙂
My struggle is from eating and smoking in the car.
Traveling with my pets and having the kids leave food wrappers is the biggest challenge.
My biggest struggle is pet odors. The car smells great but then I take my dog to the park and on the ride home he is sweaty and panting everywhere and suddenly it stinks.
I think my biggest challenge is my dog when it comes to keeping my car smelling fresh and clean. I have to take her to the vet often because of her old age and she stinks up my car, even though I love her so much!
Oh, I hope she is doing OK!
Hubby is a mechanic and his clothes get really greasy.
Whew that’s kind of stinky when he’s been driving!
thank you
Leftovers and food crumbs are a big issue.

The kids will leave food or their shoes is my car.

I love taking my dog wherever I go – only problem is she smells sometimes.
