Book Review: Confessions of a Wonder Woman Wannabe (and a Giveaway!)

Disclosure: I received a copy of this book in order to facilitate my review. All opinions are my own.

Ah, motherhood. A wonderful time in a woman’s life…but let’s be honest, it’s also the hardest.

We all start off with high ideals, telling ourselves that our children are going to be perfect little angels, we’ll never have to deal with tantrums in public, our homes will be clean and orderly and how good we will look while doing it.

Unfortunately, shortly after baby arrives, we find out very quickly that those ideals have flown out the window and we’re stuck in reality: our kids aren’t perfectly behaved, the house looks like a wreck, and we barely have time to shower, let alone put together an outfit inspired by the latest fashion magazines (even if the laundry was done).

Motherhood IS hard, but with a few tips from Confessions of a Wonder Woman Wannabe: On a Mission to Save Sanity, One Mom at a Timeblank by Jenny Lee Sulpizio (affiliate link), you’ll be in control of your kids, your home and yourself again in no time.

Jenny is SO funny and candid in this book…you’ll instantly relate to all of her mommy mishaps and laugh your way through chapters like “Peeing in Peace: Unlocking the Secret.” (Don’t all moms need to know this??)

But Jenny doesn’t just tell you her funny stories and leave you hanging. She actually gives you actionable steps to organize your home, save money at the grocery store, find time to exercise, and even how to revamp your wardrobe. This is perhaps the thing I most admire about this book…Jenny doesn’t just tell you all the things you should be doing and then leave you wondering how to accomplish them (which turns into guilt later, am I right?).

On the other hand, I think the recommendations for organizing and scheduling go a little overboard sometimes. I realize that there are people who like to have every minute of their day scheduled and every part of their home and car organized, but that’s just not me.

If you’re a brand new mom who isn’t sleeping through the night and doesn’t have a lot of free time to read a book, but is still in need of help in order to find your footing…you’re in luck! Confessions of a Wonder Woman Wannabeblank is a fun and easy read…no complicated theories to struggle through when you’ve had all of 2 hours of sleep the night before 🙂

And now for the fun part…

Jenny was kind enough to send me an extra copy of her book to giveaway to one lucky reader! Woo hoo!
