Oh. my. goodness. The cookies that we made today in the 4 Weeks to Fill Your Freezer at Money Saving Mom are sooooo good! They are going to start calling my name from the freezer, and I’m going to have a heck of a time resisting them….
I started the cookie dough early in the evening, right before dinnertime. I figured I could get a batch in the oven while dinner was cooking. After all, I couldn’t make cookie dough and not bake a few cookies…my family would never forgive me 🙂
My hubby decided that he would help me by measuring out the ingredients as I went along. After I got the butter and sugars creamed, he tried to measure out the vanilla and promptly spilled it all over the counter.
A complete novice in the kitchen, he thought that vanilla extract had the consistency of barbecue sauce and so he expected it to come out of the bottle slowly. He wasn’t ready for the splash of liquid that came running out. Ah well….he had good intentions, the lovable sweetheart that he is 🙂 Besides, the kitchen now smells all vanilla-y.
After I got the dough all mixed up, I baked a tray of cookies and rolled the rest of the dough to put in the freezer for another day.
I used up my last freezer bag this afternoon portioning out chicken for the freezer from my Aldi shopping trip, so I had to put the dough balls in a plastic container. I don’t expect that they will be in there long however…they are so delicious!
