4 Weeks to a More Organized Home {Simplified}: Day 12

It was another easy day for me in the 4 Weeks to a More Organized Home series…because I already did most of it last week!

Our assignment for today was to clean our stove, oven and microwave. I actually ended up cleaning the oven last week in preparation for Thanksgiving.

You see, we have a smoke detector right next to the entrance to the kitchen and it is SUPER sensitive. It has gone off so many times while I’m cooking….even when there is literally no smoke coming from anything!

I couldn’t have this alarm go off when our company was over, so I thought that it was better to be safe than sorry, and I ran the self-cleaning cycle on the oven last week. Miraculously, the oven is still clean ๐Ÿ™‚

The microwave was also pretty clean. I always wipe it out right away after any spills, because it is easier to clean it when it is fresh rather than when it is dried on.

The stovetop needed to be wiped down with the cooktop cleaner…I also made sure to clean well behind the knobs.

All shiny and clean!

Did you get any cleaning done today at your place?

  1. It was one of those kind of days so I’m going to have to double up on tomorrow’s assignment. Funny about your smoke detector though. Ours are the same way!

  2. I also cleaned my stove and microwave today. Both weren’t too dirty at all. The oven was so much easier to clean than the first time through this series. My daughter helped me with the vacuuming so we were able to get it all done quickly.

I wish my oven’s self cleaning still worked. It is broken and it is just so old I don’t think it would be worth fixing.
