4 Weeks to a More Organized Home {Simplified} – Day 10

I’m finally caught up with the 4 Weeks to a More Organized Home series!  I spent about half the day yesterday cleaning and vacuuming, but I didn’t get the post written last night because I spent so much time on the CVS ad 🙁

Our tasks yesterday were cleaning the ceiling fans and light fixtures.  I also caught up with cleaning my bathrooms and wiping down the light switches and door knobs.  Laundry and more vacuuming took up the rest of my morning, but I got it all done!

The light fixtures weren’t too bad, since I last cleaned them a few months ago.

The door knobs weren’t too bad either, since I go over them every so often.

Crystal also wanted us to spend a few minutes doing something relaxing and enjoyable yesterday.  I spent about 90 minutes on the phone with my dad (he’s in California and we talk every week) and then after school, I hung out with all the moms while the kids played in the backyard.  It’s fun to catch up with my friends at the end of the day 🙂

We have next week off from this challenge and then it’s back to cleaning and organizing.  I’ll be so glad to have the house all sparkling clean and organized for the holidays!

  1. What is that on your ceiling fan? I might clean my fans a bit more often if I had a contraption like that rather than waiting until I was told to do it and ending up covered in dust 🙂 Seems as if you accomplished lots! I’m excited at the thought of having my house in order for the holidays as well.

    1. Hi Jean! Thanks so much for stopping by 🙂 That thing on my ceiling fan is a special ceiling fan brush (yes, that’s the technical term…lol) In our old house, the fans were like 100 feet up and I needed a brush to clean then without killing myself. I think I bought it at Home Depot or Lowe’s.

  2. Looks like you are all caught up, great job Erin. I really like having these jobs done. My house is looking better. My ceiling fans are always dusty. I am hoping our new furance air cleaner will help keep the dust down.
