4 Weeks of Frugal Family Fun (Day 9)

We had an absolutely beautiful (and rare) spring-like day here in Maryland, so we decided to have a picnic lunch for our frugal family fun activity.

My daughter decided to set up the picnic blanket in the front yard so that if any friends came out to play, she could see them.

Of course, not more than 2 minutes after we unpacked the lunches, a friend came out to play, and the kids forgot all about the picnic and started running around. I couldn’t even get a picture of them eating!

It was just me and the dog 🙂

After lunch, we had an appointment to take our puppy to the vet for his annual check-up. The vet’s office has a very nice fish tank that the kids love to look at, as well as a few kitties roaming around (although they ran to hide as soon as we came in!).

Thankfully, Sam is one healthy pup!  He did have to get 2 shots, however.  He sure was happy to get out of there!

What’s on your agenda for fun this week?

  1. We went to see chickens and do some berry picking today. We are hoping to do a picnic tomorrow and then after that who knows we will have to come up with something to do. I am glad you pup was well. It is always great when offices have fish tanks in them to entertain the kids.

    1. I’m having trouble thinking of fun stuff to do that doesn’t involve buying a lot of strange ingredients that I’ll only use once. Gotta check out Pinterest 😉

      1. So far I have been able to find activities or crafts that we have the items on hand for. I know I hate to purchase an item to use for one thing that I won’t use again.
