I’m still playing catch-up on the 30-Day House Cleaning Challenge this week, so today I tackled surface cleaning of my kitchen and living room.
I’m happy to say that my kitchen is usually pretty clean. I try to always put the dishes in the dishwasher right after meals, and part of my clean-up routine is to wipe down all the counters and the stove. The only real problem I have is the piles of stuff all around.
I can’t seem to get rid of this one, no matter how much I try. Every few days I go through it and throw away papers that are no longer needed, but it still seems to grow.
So tonight after dinner, I used the soapy dish water to wipe down all the countertops.
I even pared down my pile of stuff to just books that I’m working on.
After I got the dishes done and the counters cleared, I vacuumed and mopped the floor. It will be so nice to wake up to a sparkling clean kitchen in the morning!
The kitchen looks great! Where does the paper come from??!! I have had similar problems in past (and still do sometimes too!). Now I have a pretty good system of filing and trashing as needed and then a “catch-all” box for anything that I need to do or take care of soon that I store on a shelf in my kitchen. It has really helped out a lot. The only trick is remembering to get back to the box… 🙂
That’s a good question! Lol…I have no idea where it comes from, but it sure does build up around here. I will have to try out using a box so the counters don’t get so cluttered. Thanks for the tip 🙂
Your kitchen looks great, Erin! And I can really relate to the piles of stuff…we have way too many of those around here. 😉
Thanks Sandra!
Your kitchen looks really nice Erin. I also struggle with piles of stuff on the kitchen counters.
Thank you Shelly!
