I got a bit off track with the 30-Day Cleaning Challenge last week 🙁 With all my doctor appointments, grocery shopping, gym classes and my kids’ play dates, I couldn’t fit all the cleaning into our schedule, so I had to do it over the weekend.
On the agenda for days 10, 11, and 12-14 was deep cleaning of the living room and one bedroom, as well as another surface clean of the bathrooms. It had been a while since I deep cleaned these rooms, so they really needed it.
I started off upstairs with the master bedroom and the windows. The blinds were pretty dusty and the curtains needed to be washed. I took off the curtains and popped them into the washing machine, along with the duvet cover and pillow shams, then went to work on the blinds with my trusty little dollar-store blind cleaner.
Look at all the dust! Bleck. I also washed the windows and cleaned the windowsills, maybe finding a bug or two to vacuum out. 😉
Our closet doors also trap a lot of dust with their shutter-like tops. I just took a dusting brush to them and they came out nice and clean. I also used my fan brush to clean the ceiling fan, and I wiped down the picture above our bed (there were some tiny fingerprints on the bottom of it. I don’t know which kiddo was standing up in our bed playing with the picture, but when I find out…actually, who am I kidding? It was probably the boy. :))
In the living room, I also washed the windows and the curtains. In addition to the floor, I also vacuumed under the couch and chair, as well as under their cushions.
I just love this little wooden planter that I bought from DaySpring, as well as my iron star candle holder from Hobby Lobby 🙂
After a long afternoon of ironing, I finally got the living room curtains back up. They look so fresh and clean!
And here’s the bedroom curtains after their washing and ironing. It’s so good to be clean and dust free 🙂
Have you done any Spring cleaning yet this year?
