Well, it’s been a crazy couple of weeks around here with Thanksgiving and illness and Christmas decorating all wrapped up together! But I’m looking forward to a regular week with a whole menu plan, which will help us settle back into a regular pattern 🙂
The day after Thanksgiving, I came down with a terrible fever and a really sore throat. Since neither of the kids were sick, I figured that I must have had a very bad cold or maybe even the flu, so I spent most of the weekend in bed, trying to get better. But by Sunday morning, my throat hurt even more, so I decided to take a peek inside my throat with a flashlight.
When I saw white spots, I knew that I probably had strep throat, so I headed to the CVS Minute Clinic that morning and, sure enough, tested positive for strep. A couple days of antibiotics later, I started feeling a lot better. (Just in time too, since I was scheduled to run with my daughter in her 5K just a few days later!)
Unfortunately, by that time, we were fresh out of groceries and my poor husband was buying take out for the kids at dinner time. In the middle of last week, I threw together a short meal plan and made up a grocery list so that we could have something home cooked again.
I have no idea where my weight is at right now, with all the Thanksgiving cheats, and eating some not-so-healthy take out, but I’ll weigh at the gym later this morning. Then I’ll have a reference point at which to start over again. That’s the thing I like best about Trim Healthy Mama…no matter if you mess up, you can always start over again in 3 hours.
As usual, my menu plan is Trim Healthy Mama-friendly. If you aren’t familiar with Trim Healthy Mama, head over to read all about how I became a Trim Healthy Mama and lost 35 pounds in 7 months.
