I went to CVS at the last minute on Saturday to pick up the free Clear shampoo and Rescue Pearls. It was crazy in the store…another couponer was there buying a huge cartload of Dawn dish soap and Suave (I think) deodorant. She had the only cashier all tied up trying to do about a thousand different transactions, so the line was getting long.
I headed to the coupon machine to get my coupon for the free shampoo, and wouldn’t you know it…the machine jammed. I wasn’t about to let $5 in free coupons, plus my free quarterly ExtraBucks sit in the machine, so I had to wait in line for help. Luckily, the cashier knows and likes me, so she was happy to help. Whew!
Anyway, here’s the rundown on the deals:
Clear shampoo, $4.99 (regularly $6.99)
Used $4.99/1 from the CVS Coupon machine
Rescue Pearls, $8.99 (regularly $10.49)
Received $8.99 back in ECBs
I also used $1.50 in quarterly ExtraBucks.
My total before store card and coupons was $17.48
Total after card and coupons was $7.49.
I now have $8.99 in ECBs to use on my next shopping trip.
When I arrived back home, I submitted my CVS receipt to Ibotta and got another $1.25 back on the Clear shampoo. So in the end, it was like I got paid $2.75 to shop at CVS 🙂 I love it when that happens!
Have you ever been “paid” to shop at a store?
